Meet Our Team – Charlie & Kay
Charlie Miller and Kay Coole are the staff of Crystal Coast Hospice House (CCHH), the non-profit foundation that owns and oversees the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House facility. They work closely with the Board of Directors for CCHH as well as with their counterparts and staff at 3HC, their operating partners who run daily operations and provide patient care at SECU CCHH.
Charlie Miller
Charlie is the Executive Director of Crystal Coast Hospice House and wears multiple hats for the organization. He divides his time between overseeing the House and property, handling the website and social media presence, speaking about hospice care with outside organizations, handling daily foundation business and finances, and fundraising. Whether dealing with a squeaky door, speaking with a civic organization, or receiving a donation check, Charlie keeps things running for CCHH. He’s been with CCHH since May 2015, and loves being a part of the organization and its mission.
In addition to his role at CCHH, Charlie is also the pastor at The Intersection, a local area church. He and his wife, Kim, have lived in Morehead City since 2005, and they love raising their three kids here at the Crystal Coast. In what little free time he has, Charlie loves to read, enjoys photography (you can see some of his work here), and is a fan of the Green Bay Packers.
Kay Coole
Kay is the Office Coordinator for Crystal Coast Hospice House, and if you’ve ever called or emailed our foundation office you’ve most likely communicated with her. Kay handles much of the behind-the-scenes work here at CCHH, processing donations and coordinating communications between the various board members, the Executive Director, volunteers and donors. Kay’s attention to detail is obvious in everything she does, and she is a valuable asset in administrating both everyday office matters as well as annual projects like the Gingerbread Festival Fundraiser. She has been a valuable part of the CCHH team since July 2016.
Outside of the office, Kay and her husband, Thor, enjoy their home on the water here in Newport. Kay is most happy with time spent with family and friends, as well as serving the community – especially those struggling to help themselves.
